Cycling is a healthy, low-impact exercise that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from young children to older adults. It is also fun, cheap and good for the environment.

Riding to work or the shops is one of the most time-efficient ways to combine regular exercise with your everyday routine. An estimated one billion people ride bicycles every day – for transport, recreation, and sport.”

Therefore, if you have discovered the benefits of this activity and plan on visiting Poland soon, make sure you bring your bike with you and visit The Starry Night bike. This solar-powered bike lane glows in the dark, and is completely self-sustaining, as it’s charged by the sun.

It is illuminated by phosphor, a synthetic material which lights up after it’s been charged by the sun.

Located near Lidzbark Warminski, it was inspired by Studio Roosegaarde and created by TPA Instytut Badań Technicznych Sp. z o.o.

According to Igor Ruttmar, president of TPA Sp. z o.o.

“The material we used for the track gives light for over ten hours. That means the road can radiate throughout the whole night and reaccumulate light the following day.”

The main goal of this path is to ensure the safety of bikers at night. Yet, it is also cost-effective, sustainable, and highly attractive, and its designers blue material of the lane to best fit in with the surrounding landscape.

Yet, this amazing bike lane is still being tested, so we cannot be sure of its duration, but it is definitely a reason more to visit Poland and enjoy its beauty!
